What's in a name?
The name Chopscotch is a nod to two things we love. “Chop” honors our first restaurant—Hanover Street Chophouse—and represents the culinary craftsmanship our venues were founded on, while “Scotch” tips its hat to our love of fine beverages (whiskey and all).
It's not an accident that it sounds like "hopscotch" either. You may have noticed, we're a little smitten with all things vintage. So just like this timeless game of yesterday, we invite our community to hop, skip, and savor their way through our dining destinations over and over. Each visit offers a memorable experience, full of the charm and character that define our treasured city.

Stuart Cameron
Stuart Cameron has worked in fine-dining establishments across the country for over two decades. After his long stay (some might call it a “residency”) at the Hanover Street Chophouse, Stuart has since joined the Crown Tavern as head chef. Stuart artfully pairs classical French techniques with traditional American influences to create unparalleled signature dishes for the Crown Tavern that are sure to delight your senses and leave you wanting to come back again and again.
Steven Clutter
From Executive Chef of some of New York and New Jersey’s finest dining establishments to a savvy, guest-focused, “operations orientated” Restaurant Executive, Steven Clutter has seen it all. As someone whose ultimate priority is the customer experience, Steven won’t settle for less than the best. Stop by the Chophouse and you’ll see Steven’s influence touching every aspect of the restaurant, from the kitchen and the dining room to the bar and valet services—you’ll likely even see the man himself.
